An exciting new opportunity has arrived for the right candidate...

Dog Daycare Team Leader (2IC) - Available May 2013 Based in South Melbourne, we are a well-established and successful business specialising in dog daycare, dog training, dog grooming and dog functions. This tightly held position is available for the first time at Australia’s most awarded dog daycare centre. We are searching for experienced and reliable Dog Daycare Team Leader to join our friendly and close knit team. This will become a full time position (38 hours per week). Initially up to 30 hours while within training period of 3-6 months depending on candidate. In this role, you will work at our South Melbourne location, providing high quality care to our clientele. To be considered for employment with us, it is essential that you:
  • At least 12 months experience in a Management role at a doggy daycare or boarding facility
  • Experience in multiple dog handling, training methods and staff training skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with staff, customers and management
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out dog behavioural assessments unsupervised
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with leading and training a team of daycare attendants and dayspa members
  • Creativity and flexibility in adapting to a challenging environment
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Evidence of ability to be an effective teacher, colleague and role model in a diverse setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Driver’s license
Education & Qualifications:
  • Dog Training/Handling qualification or relevant experience
  • Employees must be able to read, write legibly, and communicate clearly in English both in person and on the telephone.
  • Basic computer literacy including the ability to type on a computer keyboard, use a computer mouse, and view information on a computer screen is required.
    • Qualifications in animal science and/or behaviour
    • Supervisory or level 1 management qualification or experience
    • Grooming qualification or relevant experience
    • Current human and animal first aid certification
